Book of the Day: The Museum of Dr. Moses: Tales of Mystery and Suspense, by Joyce Carol Oates
Grade: D
First published: 2007
1-word review: Ugh
7-word review: Don't look here for mystery or suspense.
Here's a book full of psychoses and gruesome murders. I don't see much of value in these stories. I haven't read a lot of Oates's stuff, but I've been underwhelmed with what I have read. I'm starting to think that what her critics say might be true, that when it comes to her writing, she favors quantity over quality.
Stay in school, kids, and stay away from Idaho!
